CMMT hosts Dr. Raymond Perrin, January 2025

Updated: Oct 21

Dr. Raymond N Perrin D.O., PhD Registered Osteopath is a Specialist in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, including the Glymph drainage system of the brain. His work is also celebrated as a lymphedema and lipedema intervention. Dr. Perrin's practice is in Manchester, England, and he travels regularly to certify Perrin Practitioners across the world, ensuring appropriate training for the best client outcomes. Dr. Perrin is the author of three books detailing his work and application for remission of these pathologies.

This three-day course in Salt Lake City will train practitioners on the diagnosis and treatment using The Perrin Technique for ME/CFS, Fibromyalgia and Long-COVID.  The course is suitable for osteopaths, physical therapists and chiropractors as well as manual lymphatic drainage practitioners and massage therapists with knowledge and some experience in basic cranial techniques. To ensure the personalized attention intended, only 20 participants will be included in the Thursday, January 30th, through Saturday, February 1st, coursework. Register in advance for this rare opportunity to be trained by the researcher and practitioner, himself.

Note: Click "Check Next Available Date" to link to the class date in January.

Note: practitioners without the introductory cranial coursework such as Upledger CS1 will be able to confirm their Perrin Technique Certification upon completion of said cranial coursework.

Not only does this training open a research-based and proven method to relieve and reverse chronic pain rooted in the lymphatic system, but becoming a licensed Perrin Technique Practitioner offers

  • access to ongoing support from the Perrin Technique network,

  • opportunities for advanced training and, of course,

  • inclusion on the interactive map of certified practitioners on the Perrin Technique website which helps to attract new patients who are seeking this treatment as well as offer increased credibility in the field of ME/CFS, Fibromyalgia and Long Covid therapy.

  •  Licensed practitioners also get the benefit of patient referrals in their region based on the Find a Practitioner page.

In his January Workshop in Salt Lake City, Utah, Dr. Perrin is including the cost of Perrin Technique initial certification and licensing to all qualified participants in this workshop. Participants in this coursework will leave with all of the tools necessary to actuate this work based on Dr. Perrin's research and clinical practices. Learn more here.

The Perrin Technique does include skin-on-skin medical massage of breast, spine, and neck to encourage and maintain the syphon effect of drainage. Best practices include weekly clinic sessions, and nightly at-home maintenance. Dr. Perrin's website is a rich resource for clients learning to protect and sustain their progress.

The Perrin Technique requires the mindset of the long game, but clients who take the provided Perrin Questionnaires will know if Dr. Perrin's research matches their personal needs before the journey and practice of massage begins. Additionally, their personal data is predictive of the time necessary for the reversal of their symptoms and exiting the program which over time and quarterly review of their progress is reduced in its frequency of in-office and at-home support. Learn more of Dr. Perrin's clients' journeys, here.

Utah is one of 5 states that allow breast massage with written consent. 58-47b-501, (2)(a) "If a female patron (i)requests breast massage…(ii) signs a written consent form before EACH time the procedure is performed, and (b)if the female patron is a minor, the female patron’s parent or legal guardian shall sign the written consent form." This statement is easily added to the SOAP notes along with a dated signature by the client for each treatment.

As practitioners, Ruby Tam of Minnesota has already supported 3 patients to remission and forecasts that 2 more patients will be in full recovery within the next 6 months. Her clinic will host Dr. Perrin again in October 2026 for this training. At Copper Mountain Manual Therapy, Rachel has been grateful to offer another tool to her clients who are in the first quarter of their treatments which beautifully combines the strengths of osteopathic manual therapy and cranial sacral work.

Dr. Perrin's Technique is instantly recognizable as a trustworthy tool for real results. More licensed practitioners are needed, and Dr. Perrin hopes to train those who are ready to practice this important technique to the benefit of the many in our clinics and communities who are seeking solutions now.
